Horse Racing

Ayr Racecourse

Ayr Racecourse is grade one and is the top racecourse in Scotland. It holds around 30 race meets per year including The Scottish Grand National and Ayr Gold Cup festivals.

We are only 15 minutes away on a direct road and regular service buses pick up and drop off outside Ardwell and the racecourse

Walking/Rambling

Ardwell is sits close to the beautiful River Ayr Way. This source to sea walk is 44 miles long and passes through gorgeous wooded valleys. It can be completed in 1,2 or 3 days depending on fitness and there are some fantastic pubs on the route to refuel.

Cycling

This part of Ayrshire is perfect for those who want to do some road cycling on quiet country roads. The scenery is fantastic ranging from rolling hills to coastal views. We do a bit of cycling ourselves and can advise on routes etc.

Bowling

We are used frequently by guests playing or spectating at local bowling centres such as Northfield in Ayr or Auchinleck indoor bowling.
